What was so appealing on the "small singer with a big voice" that people still sing his songs and read his poetry over 20 years after his death? What is an artist's place in the tragic history of his homeland? Can an individual change the course of history? Was Kryl a victim of his nation's history? He was loved by many and yet died alone and bitter – because he was never one to compromise.

These and more questions appear in the film by Krystyna Krauze centered around the poet Karel Kryl and dedicated to his legacy and memory.
