Francisci wrote a poem before his execution…

It was his last.

Read an article by Roman Kebísek about a charged moment in his life and his poetry. Unfortunately, the article is only available in Slovak.

How does Francisci himself describe this moment in his autobiography?

"My poor mother, who had already run out of tears to cry, was watching our march into abrupt trial. She had brought with herself a piece of canvas, so that she can have us taken down once we will be hanged, and bury us enveloped in the canvas."
